FAQ on Post-Assessment
Ans
You can decide what you want to do with the Report. However, please note that the assessment of your qualification(s) is neither an institutional nor a programme accreditation. The assessment result does not represent any recognition status of the qualification(s) or institution(s) on the Report nor should it be publicized or published by any person or institution for such purpose.
If your purpose for qualifications assessment is teacher registration/appointment, you can decide whether you would like to submit it to your employer or Teacher Registration Team of Education Bureau.
Ans
Education Bureau is the decision making body for local teacher registration and will consider the assessment outcome as one of many factors to determine whether the applicant could be registered as a teacher in Hong Kong. You may want to visit Education Bureau’s website or consult them for advice.
Ans
Please note that completed assessment cases are retained for a period of five years and are then disposed of, therefore Replacement Reports will not be issued for cases after 5 years. If your Report of Qualifications Assessment was issued less than 5 years ago, please email qainfo@hkcaavq.edu.hk for procedures to apply for a Replacement Report.
Ans
The assessment does not consider work experience on their own. Please note that post-qualification working experience is also not supervised teaching practice as described in Guidance Notes for Application.
Ans
We are not in a position to advise what measures you should take to be a registered teacher in Hong Kong. Locally recognised qualification, including locally recognised teacher training programme, could be found in Hong Kong Qualifications Register (https://www.hkqr.gov.hk/)
Ans
Regarding the assessment outcome of whether a teacher training qualification can make reference to Hong Kong’s teacher training qualification, our assessment outcome would not state whether it is related to Primary Education or Secondary Education. The related assessment makes reference to the EDB’s assessment guidelines for teacher professional training, which do not differentiate between Primary Education or Secondary Education, therefore the assessment outcome would not state whether it is related to Primary Education or Secondary Education.
